hunter (my 2 year old) and i will be playing a game… like soccer last night in the house… and if i have to go or we have to stop he’ll always go “daddy, one more time… one more time daddy” to which i’ll always go “ok, buddy one more time” about 5 times.
this post comes out of pastor’s sermon yesterday (which was really really good) we had amazing church in all 3 services yesterday…(BTW sitting here watching the home run derby and this dude Josh Hamilton [never heard of him til now cause i'm not a baseball guy at all] is KILLING the baseball… KILLIN IT!!!) anyhow, so here we go…
i know there are a lot of people in the struggle right now with this economy and all kinds of stuff. but yesterday pastor read this scripture in his sermon and it just goes to remind us that God is the one that fights our battles and if He’s brought us this far and He’s not gonna leave us. In Psalm 44:5-8 the Psalmist reminds us not to trust in our “things” but rather to trust in the One the “has” (past tense) brought us through before and when we trust in Him we will be able to boast all day long about how He brings through.
So, if your in the struggle for whatever reason… maybe it’s finances, maybe it’s a struggling teenager, maybe it’s whatever… God has brought his people through before and Hebrews 13:8 tells us He’s the same today as He was back then. It’s like hunter asking me “one more time?” cause he’ll know i’ll do it… without sounding cliche… If God’s done it before, He’ll do it again!
Josh Hamilton wore himself out in his unbelievable first round and came up short in the home run derby… poor guy!
